Committee Descriptions:
Planning  

Recruits nominees for office, prepares ballots and administers the election process.  Conducts organizational reviews of chamber structure, policies and procedures.  Develop short and long range strategic planning processes.  Monitors adherence to strategic plan.  Organizes annual Board Retreats.  President, Vice President are contributors/members of this committee. 

Communications

Develops and distributes promotional and educational information to the membership, public and media regarding the chamber’s and members events, activities and issues through newsletters, advertisements, website, news releases and public service announcements.  Develops promotional materials for events.  Maintains membership database and all business database.  Processes mailings to membership and all business mailings. 

Membership

Develops and maintains systems for membership processing, annual membership drive, recruitment , periodic surveys and recognition. 

Economic Development 

Serves as a go-to source for prospective businesses looking to settle in Milan.  Develops and maintains prospective business packets.  Acts as a councilor to guide businesses in the process of accessing services, business incentives and networks within Milan. 

Legislative Liaison(s)

Raising issues to promote awareness and education of chamber membership on legislative issues.   Stays current on the needs/wants of membership as to provide a representative/collective voice that represents the interests of businesses to the Village of Milan, Springfield and Washington DC.   Attends Village Council Meets and/or reads the minutes and reports monthly to the Board.  Meets periodically with legislators to bring a give voice from the Milan business community
